Who builds Maatram

Maatram is a free screen-time and focus web app for students. It is a school venture from SSVM School of Excellence in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, built by a team of four students. The tagline is “Bringing a change in you”: inspired by Gen Z, made by Gen Z, made for Gen Z.

Why it exists

Hours disappear ten minutes at a time. Deleting the apps rarely lasts, so Maatram keeps them where they are and puts a cost, a pause and an audience between you and the feed. Every tool feeds one points balance, so a focused hour and a lost hour show up in the same number.

What the team has built

Six tools on one points balance: Focus Timers (Pomodoro 25/5 and Deep Work 90/15), App Gate with a 5 to 90 minute Hard Lock, Study Rooms for up to five people, Screen Stats, a Leaderboard of real signed-in students, and Wellness, a private 7-day meal plan with four daily checks worth +25 points each. Every tool opens without an account; signing in with Google saves your points. The Sports Corner lists local events that signed-in users post. An Android build enforces the lock outside the browser, and the Maatram Hard Lock Chrome extension blocks Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, X and Facebook in Chrome during a Hard Lock. The full source code is public on GitHub, and changes run through automated checks before they ship.

Every page on this site describes something you can open and check on the site itself. Numbers such as timer lengths, room size and points come straight from how the app works. There are no paid placements, sponsored reviews, testimonials or fake users. Wellness pages give general habit tips, not medical, mental-health or nutrition advice.
